General Information

The Workshop will be held at CCLRC, Daresbury Laboratory on 29th and 30th November 2004.  The scope of the Conference is all ab-initio and materials specific calculations of the electronic properties of condensed matter systems such as metals, semiconductors, magnets, superconductors, biological systems, minerals, surfaces etc. Topical areas incorporated in the Conference are magno-electronics, catalysis, nanotechnology, high temperature superconductors, novel wide band gap semiconductors etc. Techniques covered by the Conference include QMC, DFT, GW, TD-DFT, DMFT, SIC-LSDA, LSDA+U. We welcome all contributions dealing with the solution of the Schrodinger/Dirac equation in condensed matter systems.

Talks and Posters

We welcome your contribution. Please submit an abstract by 1 October 2004 to Shirley Miller.

Posterboards are landscape (119cm x 93cm).

Registration & Fees

Please complete the online registration form and either 1) post a cheque (see details below) or 2) for credit cards complete a payment form and either post it or fax it to the local organisers.

Please register by 15th November. Speakers must also register.

Fees are £150 and include one nights accommodation (Monday night), conference dinner, two lunches and refreshments.

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will take place on Monday evening at the Yang Sing Restaurant, 34 Princess Street Manchester. http://www.yang-sing.com

Accommodation

One night bed and breakfast is included in registration fee. Delegates are responsible for any additional nights required. Please do not telephone the hotel directly to book the one night that is included in the conference fee.

Delegates arriving at Manchester Airport will need to take the train from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly Station.
